public health philanthropy and a leader in health equity advocacy. When the Foundation decided to appear at MCON — a signature event for Millennial movers and shakers held in Washington D.C., I created a custom, reusable, modular display system for their 10’ x 40’ space.The system, which packs flat for shipping and can be assembled and disassembled without tooling, served as a structure for a variety of informational and tactile, interactive panels. Together, they also divided the otherwise open space into several distinct areas, including a more public central space where attendees could rest, recharge, and converse with Foundation staff. Part of a massive rebranding project, the Hub represents a marquee sub-brand with an extensive signage component. I toured the then-unfinished building with my colleagues to get a better understanding of the anticipated spaces, lines of sight, flow, &amp;c. We worked closely with the architects and client to account for structural changes, ultimately creating an identity system and&nbsp; corresponding signage system that extensively incorporated the wood slat accents seen throughout. free schools for Black Americans predominantly in the segregated South — Chicago Freedom School is an extracurricular program that fights the good fight by educating the next generation of young BIPOC social justice activists and their adult allies. The visual identity we created relied on interviews and extensive consultations with young folks then enrolled at CFS. Inclusive and radical, the identity system is centered around a radiative mark that speaks to CFS’s supportive, non-hierarchical ethos. Coupled with a confident, upright display typeface and alternately assertive and warm colorways, the system embodies the bold, multifaceted, just communities CFS aims to foster. In a nod to the Plant’s emphasis on building vibrant, diverse communities, the identity also features a set of illustrations that can be tiled to create larger tapestries. Photographs from We All We Got were displayed from October 9th, 2014 to January 4th, 2015 at David Weinberg Photography in Chicago. They are currently on exhibit at the Bronx Documentary Center in New York. As the title suggests, the toolkits aim to inculcate a design-oriented approach to problem solving from the ground up to better serve patron needs. The illustrations presented here accompanied chapters on "Programs &amp; Services," "Brainstorming Rules," "Research Methods," and a condensed guide with recommendations and activities on how to teach design thinking in a day.
